The Pink Umbrella

I would like to dedicate this page to a friend, that travelled with us quite a while. He never had a name, but he was still very close to me. Our pink umbrella.

Quite in the beginning of our trip through Australia (22.11.11), we encountered this really rainy day, that made it necessary to get him. As you can see, Rebekka was very unsatisfied with my color selection. Nonetheless we got commented on it, already the same day.

This place where we bought it, was the beautiful Narooma, 350km south of Sydney. If you're ever in Australia, try to see this place, it was one of the greatest of our whole trip. What fascinated us most, is the stunningly clear water, since the inlet has no rivers running into it.

Even though, our umbrella-fried was so important to us, we rarely have him on pictures, since we wouldn't shoot, when it was wet. These following two were taken in the Noosa National Park, 150km north of Brisbane, QLD (22.3.12)

Just shortly before leaving Australia, we shot the last pix with him in action. The following two shots are from Springbrook National Park, 100km south of Brisbane from the 16.4.12.

In the US, he helped us get down into the Grand Canyon safely. Unfortunately no pix of that event. The last shot we took, was when we had to say good bye. He was replaced by a black congener. Rest In Peace dear pink umbrella, Trashcan Motel 6 (the last one we stayed in with Rebekka's parents), Los Angeles, California, 6.5.12.
