Matthew The Kangaroo

kangaroo  |kæŋɡəˈruː|
a large plant-eating marsupial with a long powerful tail and strongly developed hind limbs that enable it to travel by leaping, found only in Australia and New Guinea

soft toy (Brit.) stuffed animal (Amer.)
children's toy, typically a toy animal, made of fabric stuffed with a soft filling

Our little friend and companion Matt is obviously an Australian native. We bought him in Melbourne sometime between our working period (from Dec11-Feb12). We were sending packages home with stuff that we weren't able to carry anymore 3 times in total. One was just after we finished working in Shepparton and at first it was the plan to also send him. (the reason why rebekka was sad)But then through some coincidence, he convinced us to take him, and also a lot of pictures with him.
For an unknown reason only starting in the US, maybe it's because it's the most natural thing to see a kangaroo in OZ but not in the US.
yay

As you can tell, he was especially exited about pix with unique backgrounds, so there we are.
Hollywood, the Grand Canyon, the Monument Valley and Zion Canyon.

Here he found a Californian License Plate with his name on it.

The Golden Gate bridge, the Hollywood Walk of Fame even has his name on it!
Some carving in the La Jolla Cove in San Diego and at its downtown.

And in the Yosemite Valley.

When we were waiting in line, early in the morning to get a campsite in the valley, he was acting as some of the others and lay down in a sleeping bag :)

He is also a fan of VW buses, so you see him on the antenna and in the hands of the kids of our friendly camping acquaintances.

In Phoenix he climbed up Camelback Mountain with us and enjoyed the sunset.

Downtown Pittsburgh, the Capitol, the Washington Memorial and the White House in D.C.

But of course also with the Big Apple.

And in front of the Hallgrímskirkja in Rejkjavik and down on the black beaches of Reynisfjara.

Right now he is exploring the sights of Hungary with us, but that's a different story...
